Built for Australian businesses

Moving a full 200-litre drum by hand is one of the more dangerous routine jobs in a workshop. The drum weighs more than the person moving it, it is top-heavy, and tipping or walking it across a floor risks both injury and a spill. The spill is often the larger problem: a drum of chemical across a workshop floor is a clean-up, a report, and potentially a regulatory matter.

The Swan Drum Dolly addresses both at once. The drum sits on a wheeled base rather than being manhandled, so it rolls instead of being walked, and a wide steel handle gives two-handed control over direction and stopping rather than relying on shoving the drum itself.

The base is moulded to catch small leaks and drips. This is the distinction worth being precise about: it is a containment base for the minor seepage that happens around bungs, taps and seams while a drum is in use or in motion, not a bunded pallet sized to hold the drum’s full contents. For full-capacity bunding to AS 1940 requirements, a bunded spill pallet is the correct product, and the dolly complements rather than replaces it.

Swivel castors with brakes are what make it work in a real workshop. Swivel lets the dolly turn in its own length in aisles and between benches; the brakes let it be parked and worked from without creeping. For tight workshops where a forklift cannot reach and a pallet jack has nowhere to go, it is often the only practical way to reposition a drum.

At 750 x 750 x 1095 mm and 16 kg it is compact and manoeuvrable, built in Australia, with very high chemical resistance for the solvents, oils, fuels and chemicals typically stored in 200L drums. The minimum order is a single unit.

Catches the drips

Minor seepage around bungs and taps is contained rather than reaching the floor.

Works where machines cannot

Tight workshops and between-bench spaces that a forklift cannot service.

Handles aggressive contents

Very high chemical resistance suits solvents, oils, fuels and chemicals.

Parks where you put it

Brake castors stop the drum creeping while it is being worked from.

What 2,000 kg SWL means
in practice

Safe working load (SWL) depends on how the crate is supported.

Static is sitting still on a flat floor; dynamic is
moving on a forklift or jack; racking is spanning beams with no support underneath.

No. The dolly is supplied on its own. It fits standard 200L drums and accommodates containers up to 205L.

No, and this is important to get right. The base contains small leaks and drips the minor seepage around bungs, taps and seams. It is not sized to hold a drum’s full contents. For full-capacity bunding to AS 1940 requirements, you need a bunded spill pallet.

It is rated for very high chemical resistance, which covers the solvents, oils, fuels and chemicals typically stored in 200L drums. Confirm compatibility with our sales team for specific aggressive chemicals.

That is what it is designed for. The wide steel handle gives two-handed control over a rolling drum rather than requiring the drum to be walked or tipped. Confirm your own site’s manual handling assessment for the loaded weight involved.

At 750 x 750 mm it fits through standard doorways and aisles. The 1095 mm handle height suits normal pushing posture.

Yes. It has swivel castors with brakes, so the dolly turns freely in tight spaces and parks securely when you need to work from the drum.
